Mr. October: Cabral Takes Second Series
THOMPSON, Conn. — Randy Cabral and Ben Seitz were both opportunists Sunday. Cabral won the caution-free 25-lap Northeastern Midget Ass’n feature at Thompson Speedway’s World Series, while Seitz’s sixth-place finish was more than enough to capture a record fourth-straight championship.
Starting sixth, Cabral snuck the Bertrand No. 47 under teammate Shane Hammond heading into turn one on lap 10 and went on to post his third victory of the season.
It was the second World Series checkered for Cabral, who gained two spots on the initial green and ran second for seven laps.
Greg Stoehr came from 23rd to grab third. Nokie Fornoro, Hammond and B.J. MacDonald completed the topfive. The top six finished in the same lap.
