U.S. Drivers Show Well

Int'l Midget World Series, Western Springs Speedway, Auckland, New Zealand

CONCORD, N.C. — American racers were successful during the four-race Int’l Midget World Series at Western Springs Speedway in Auckland, New Zealand.
While Kiwi Michael Pickens edged Americans Brad Kuhn and Jerry Coons, Jr. to win the series finale, it was the only race in the series not captured by a U.S. driver.
Davey Ray drove the No. 88 to victory in the opener, ahead of Graham Standring and Americans Kuhn and Scott Hatton.
Race number two saw Indiana’s Dave Darland dominate the 30-lap event, with Brad Mosen and Brad Kuhn filling the podium.
Kuhn showed the way to victory lane in the third round of the series, beating Michael Kendall and Coons to the checkered flag.
