Defending Champ Loyet Is Fourth POWRi Winner
BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Brad Loyet became the fourth different winner in as many O’Reilly POWRi National Midget Series events Saturday night at Belle-Clair Speedway.
Loyet, who has improved his series winning streak to four consecutive at the track, passed Ryan Criswell with a slide job, which saw the pair make contact on lap 23 in the 30-lap event on the fifth-mile dirt track.
Following the winning pass, Loyet held off point-leader Zach Daum by a car and a half at the checkered flag.
Daum’s runner-up finish was his second of the season. He held off the reigning micro-sprint champion Dereck King, Steve Knepper and Donnie Lehmann.
Jeremy Camp also added his name to the POWRi Micro-Sprint record books, as he notched his first-career victory.
