JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — Michael Pickens notched his first O’Reilly POWRi National Midget Series victory of 2007 on Friday, using the outside line to pick off leader Brad Kuhn with four laps to go in the 25-lap feature at Morgan County Speedway.
Pickens started third and was able to pull ahead of Kuhn several times, but didn’t officially lead a lap until lap 21, when he finally cleared the leader on the high side.
Series point-leader Brad Loyett passed Kuhn on the final lap to finish second and extend his points lead. Kuhn spun on the last lap but recovered to finish third, followed by Davey Ray and Bubba Altig.
