BELLEVILLE, Ill. — It took only one corner for Brett Anderson to capture the lead for good in Saturday’s Finley Memorial race at Belle-Clair Speedway in O’Reilly POWRi Midget Series competition.
Anderson had Indiana sprint-car veteran Jon Stanbrough closing in near the end of the 30 lapper, but Stanbrough was never able to execute the pass as Anderson led every circuit.
Stanbrough settled for second, while Rich Camfield, Joey Montgomery and Brent Beauchamp rounded out the top five.
The finish:
Brett Anderson, Jon Stanbrough, Rich Camfield, Joey Montgomery, Brent Beauchamp, Derek Myers, Dave Camfield, Tim Siner, Zach Daum, Kenny Biro, A.J. Felker, Patrick Bruns, Thomas Chandler, Kyle Wissmiller, J.C. Bland, Derek King, Austin Brown.
