Caisse Keeps Kobyluck At Bay

Busch East

MANSFIELD, Ohio — Sean Caisse scored his third NASCAR Busch East triumph of the season Saturday in the Mansfield 150 at Mansfield Motorsports Park.
The 21-year- old Caisse outran the constant pressure from the previous week’s winner, Matt Kobyluck, through the race’s final restart with three laps to go.
Caisse, driving the No. 44 Casella Waste Systems Chevrolet, won the pole for the inaugural event at the half-mile paved oval with a lap at 109.170 miles per hour. He then led 136 laps.
Runner-up Kobyluck, in the No. 40 Mohegan Sun Chevrolet, was a constant presence, however, leaving the outcome in doubt until the finish.
Point-leader Joey Logano finished third, followed by Jerry Marquis and Jeffrey Earnhardt in the top five.
Completing the top 10 were Marc Davis, Peyton Sellers, Jamie Hayes, Bryon Chew and Belgian Max Dumarey, who posted his first top-10 finish of the season.
The Busch East Series heads to New Hampshire Int’l Speedway for a 125-lap event Sept. 14 before the circuit ends its season Sept. 21 at Dover Int’l Speedway.
