Fike Arrested For Heroin Possession
While Visiting Theme Park
MASON, Ohio — Aaron Fike, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, was arrested Saturday at the King’s Island theme park near Cincinnati.
Fike and his fiancée, Cassandra Davidson, were being held in the Warren County Jail without bond on charges of drug possession. The pair was scheduled for a court appearance on Tuesday.
Fike, who ranks eighth in Truck Series points, is likely to be suspended by NASCAR once the facts of the case are presented to the sanctioning body. Truck Series racer Tyler Walker was suspended by NASCAR earlier this year for violating its substance abuse policy. Walker drives for Red Horse Racing.
“We were made aware of this incident this afternoon,” Red Horse Racing team owner Tom DeLoach told The Charlotte Observer on Sunday. “We are working with NASCAR to obtain further information on the incident and will release more information as the facts become available to us.”
Fike was arrested after the side mirror of his car struck a security officer and Fike drove away from the scene. When police arrived they found heroin and syringes inside Fike’s vehicle.
On Monday, Red Horse Racing named David Green to substitute drive for Fike at Kentucky Speedway this weekend.
