2008 Gets Under Way

Anderson Speedway

ANDERSON, Ind. — Nick Warner dominated the rescheduled 10th annual Bounce City New Year’s Day Bash Saturday with three victories at Anderson Speedway.
Warner captured checkers in the ThunderCar, front-wheel-drive oval and front-wheel-drive figure-8 features. Brad Brooks won the front-wheel-drive open feature, and Tim Phillips won the mini-cup feature.

Hampton Coliseum

HAMPTON, Va. — Polesitter Scott Prillaman led 49 of 50 laps to earn his fifth victory of the season Saturday night as Arena Racing USA continued its Hampton Roads series at the Hampton Coliseum.
Prillaman captured the victory in the “Top Dog” feature by beating runner-up Adam Florian to the line. Larry Murphy was third, while Spencer Saunders and Derek Miller rounded out the top five.

Mototown Speedway

WINDSOR, Conn. — Marc Guerard completed a doubleheader sweep with victories in the 1,200cc mini-sprint and 750cc micro-sprint features Sunday night as the Bud Light 12 Pack Race Series made its debut at the indoor Mototown Speedway.
Guerard took the lead on the opening lap of the 1,200cc feature and endured 15 cautions for the victory ahead of Pat Kuerner and Rich Wood, Jr. In the 30-lap 750cc feature, Guerard topped William Eggiman.
Other winners were: Lex Burritt (600cc micro-sprint), Ryan Charland (modified lite), Darren Jacobs (four-cylinder street stock) and Jonathan Routhier (eight-cylinder street stock).

Mercer Raceway Park

MERCER, Pa. — Former stock-car driver Leigh Wheeler survived eight inches of snow, rain and near-freezing temperatures to win Saturday afternoon’s Jack Frost 150 enduro race at Mercer Raceway Park.
Wheeler, who was awarded $1,000 for the victory, was one of 109 enduro drivers to take the green flag.
Bryan Gunsolus took home $500 for winning the Snowball Demo Derby.

Mountain Speedway

ST. JOHNS, Pa. — Robin Schweire bested the cold and a 42-car field in the 4-cylinder division as the Mountain Madness Enduro Series got under way with a 100-lap event Sunday at Mountain Speedway.
The speedway hosted three divisions for the Enduro event. Dominic Parisi, Jr. won the 6-/8-cylinder division, while Harry Sager was the first winner in the newly added trophy truck division.
