ORLANDO, Fla. — Alex Kempf picked up the surprise victory in the Legends feature as Orlando Speedworld opened up their inaugural Winter Heats series Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Thomson started on the pole for the feature event and led every lap with Kempf finishing in the runner-up spot. However, Thomson’s car failed post-race inspection, giving Kempf his first-ever feature victory.
Other winners in Saturday’s events were Ryan Rust (pro challenge), Zach Harris (bandolero bandit), Donovan Ponder (bandolero young gun), Bryce Walker (charger), Bryan Silas (late model), Whitney Poole (sportsman), Bobby Riley (super stock), Thomas Warnick (junior stock), Jeff Cuddy (junior stock 8-11), Kevin O’Brien (mini stock), Tyler Laing (quick kids), Todd McCreary (hurricanes/strictly stock) and Rudy Arnold (outlaw strictly stock).
