ROSSBURG, Ohio — Joey Saldana outclassed a stellar field of competitors to win Saturday night’s O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions sprint-car feature at Eldora Speedway.
The 37-car field was bolstered by a large number of World of Outlaws competitors taking part in the event after the scheduled event for that series was rained out in Iowa.
Paul McMahan and Daryn Pittman shared the front row, with Pittman taking the early lead. Saldana started sixth and quickly made his way forward, taking the point on the sixth tour of the historic half-mile oval.
Saldana led the remainder of the distance in a race that went flag to flag without a yellow. Among the many drivers Saldana lapped along the way was his car owner and NASCAR driver Kasey Kahne.
Pittman and Donny Schatz waged a thrilling battle for second, with Pittman winning the exchange of slide jobs. Steve Kinser won the B main and romped from 11th to finish fourth, with McMahan taking fifth.
