Wood Breaks Through In Style

ASCS Sooner Region, Lawton Speedway

LAWTON, Okla. — Joe Wood, Jr. cashed in on his first career American Bank of Oklahoma ASCS Sooner Region victory by wiring the field in Saturday night’s 25-lap event at Lawton Speedway.
Gunning into the lead at the outset, the Oklahoma City racer survived traffic over the final rounds to beat Zach Chappell and Kevin Ramey to the checkered flag.
“Traffic was a challenge with everyone running different lines around the track,” the 23-year old explained from victory lane.  “I was just trying to stay focused.”
Brian McClelland and Andy Shouse rounded out the top five.
The finish:
Joe Wood, Jr., Zach Chappell, Kevin Ramey, Brian McClelland, Andy Shouse, Justin Melton, Gary Taylor, Kerry McAlister, Eric Baldaccini, Sean McClelland, Matt Covington, Danny Jennings, Landon Brown, Michael Brown, Jason Botsford, Jeff Dodd, Sheldon Barksdale, Earnest Jennings, Kyle Merriman, Robert Sellers, Rick Barksdale, Kolt Walker.
