Barger Barges To Victory Lane
DUNDEE, N.Y. — Justin Barger scored the cleanest possible clean sweep in the 2008 Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints opener Saturday at Black Rock Speedway.
He led every lap of his heat, the dash and the main event after starting on the front row in all three races.
The only challenge Barger faced was when it counted most, on the last lap of the feature. Bryan Howland had moved close enough to try the low line out of turn four just as the leaders encountered a slowing car on the top of the track. Barger was able to thread the needle, holding off Howland by half a car length. It was his second- straight opening-day win with ESS and his 11th victory overall with the traveling 360 sprint car circuit.
Hometown favorite Lance Yonge took third. Chuck Hebing was fourth from 11th at the start and Doug Emery completed the top five.
