Poirier, Bergeron Split Empire Super Sprint Visit To Canada

GRANBY, Quebec — After struggling in his heat race, Steve Poirier capitalized on the luck of the draw, which put him on the pole for the feature, and led the entire route for his seventh 25th-Anniversary Tour Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprint victory of the season Friday night at Autodrome Granby.
The victory all but locks up the Canadian Invasion Series title for Poirier and moves him closer to the overall ESS championship.
Alain Bergeron settled for second behind Poirier, while Lance Yonge started and finished in third. Michael Parent and Brian McDonald rounded out the top five.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Quebec — Alain Bergeron brought the Autodrome Drummond crowd to its feet as he slid by Michael Parent in the final corner on the last lap of the 25th-Anniversary Empire Super Sprint Tour Fondations 4 Saisons 25-lap event.
The $2,025 victory was Bergeron’s third in the ESS tour this season, two of which have come at Drummondville.
Parent settled for second ahead of Friday night winner Steve Poirier in third. Lee Ladouceur was fourth and Brian McDonald completed the top five.
