WILMOT, Wis. — Chad Blonde captured Saturday’s 30-lap Bumper to Bumper IRA/ASA Outlaw Sprint headliner at Wilmot Speedway to win his first IRA victory in first series appearance of 2007.
Making only his second- career start at Wilmoth, Blonde grabbed the lead on restart following the first caution flag, running the cushion to jump from fourth and into the top sport and never looked back, opening up a half-lap margin on the second-place car of John Haeni.
Donny Goeden got past Haeni for second in the late stages of the event but couldn’t close the gap on Blonde, who won by more than half a lap. Goeden held on for second and was crowned King of Wisconsin for garnering the most points at the series’s three appearances at the track.
Haeni, Kurt Davis and Kurt Winker filled the top five.
The finish:
Chad Blonde, Donny Goeden, John Haeni, Kurt Davis, Kurt Winker, Scotty Neitzel, Steve Meyer, Jason Johnson, Brian Kristan, Mike Reinke, Bill Warren, Scott Biertzer, Scott Young, Scott Semmelman, Mike Kertscher, Rick Kelsey, Tim Vandevere, Dave Uttech, Mike Dubbs, Travis Whitney, Tommy Sexton, Dave Moulis.
