Hepfner, Uttech Split IRA Wisconsin Double Header

BEAVER DAM, Wis. — Todd Hepfner led flag to flag to claim the ninth-annual Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints Rick Schmidt Memorial Friday at Dodge County Speedway.
Hepfner steered his HRP Eagle Gaerte to victory in convincing fashion, running the high line around the big half mile.
Mike Reinke and Scotty Neitzel ran second and third for the majority of the event, but Neitzel went out with a flat tire with two laps to go. Donny Goeden would inherit third at the finish with Mike Kertscher roaring from the rear after early mechanical woes to claim fourth, while John Haeni took fifth.

Saturday

WILMOT, Wis. — Scott Uttech scored big at Wilmot Speedway in front of a huge holiday-weekend crowd by capturing Saturday’s combined IRA King Of Wisconsin-Al & Marie Winker/Wayne Daun Memorial event.
Starting from the pole, Uttech held off stiff competition and piloted the Klootwyk Racing Maxim No. 3k to the victory by less than a car-length over Mike Reinke.
Billy Balog challenged Uttech early, but to no avail.
It was Uttech’s first Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints victory of the year and the second of his career.
Kurt Winker was third ahead of Scott Biertzer in fourth and Todd Hepfner completing the top five.
