IRA Payoffs For Logan, Johnson

Sept. 15, Dodge County Fairgrounds, Beaver Dam, Wis.

Ricky Logan made the long commute from Arkansas to Wisconsin pay off as he captured the IRA Dick Witt Checkered Classic.
Logan started in the second row and took the lead on lap six. He did a masterful job in traffic, keeping runner-up Brooke Tatnell from attempting any last-lap heroics .Logan piloted the Lucas Oil No. 10 to his 3rd-career IRA victory on his first trip to the big Dodge County half-mile.
Tatnell would close the gap to a pair of lengths at the end as he trailed Logan to the checkered. Wayne Johnson came home a comfortable third over an impressive run from Billy Balog. Todd Hepfner rounded out the top five.

Wayne Johnson was the best in a star-studded field as the Interstate Racing Ass’n sprint cars beat the cold and a light rain to finally complete the previously rained out Summer Sizzler.
With temperatures in the low 40s and light mist falling, Steve Meyer led the first lap, but gave up the point to Brooke Tatnell on lap two. However, Johnson brought his No. 14aj to the front on lap 14 and raced away from the field to win the 25-lap event.
Tatnell finished second, with Scott Neitzel, Meyer and Donny Goeden following.
