Tatnell Holds On For No. 6

LASALLE, Ill. — Brooke Tatnell overtook early leader Travis Whitney and held off a charge from Wayne Johnson to claim victory in the O’Reilly Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprints sanctioned Illinois Valley Fall Sprint Classic Saturday night at LaSalle Speedway.
Tatnell piloted the Guy Forbrook Maxim to victory. It was his sixth-career IRA triumph and first of the season. Tatnell was also the fast qualifier for the 33-car field.
Whitney led the early laps, but Tatnell used lapped traffic to his advantage to grab the lead. He then held off Johnson, who made his way to the front during the second half of the event.
Whitney, Ricky Logan and Billy Balog rounded out the top five.
