Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway

Friday

NEW RICHMOND, Wis. — Scott Winters had to hold off a charging Brooke Tatnell as the Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series came calling for night one of the Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway
It was Winters’s first 410 sprint-car victory at the three-eighths oval and came as Tatnell charged from his 10th-starting spot up to second. Tatnell closed on Winters as he diced through lapped traffic, but was unable to gain enough ground to get to the bumper of Winters.
Jerry Richert, Jr., who set a quick time of 11.555 seconds during qualifying, finished third. Davey Heskin was fourth ahead of Bill Balog.
Scotty Biertzer was uninjured after being involved in an incident during the third heat of the night. After hopping the right-rear tire of Leigh Thomas entering turn one, Biertzer was launched skyward in a series of flips, exiting the track and landing upright on the road leading to the track scales.
The finish:
Scott Winters, Brooke Tatnell, Jerry Richert, Jr., Davey Heskin, Bill Balog, Scotty Neitzel, Steve Meyer, John Sernett, Travis Whitney, Kurt Davis, Brian Kristan, Mike Reinke, John Haeni, Donny Goeden, Gary Dewall, Leigh Thomas, Ryan Irwin, Scott Uttech, Dave Uttech, Billy Hafemann, Jason Johnson, Andy Hunt.
