It was an emotional night for veteran driver Andy Forsberg. After paying tribute to fallen crew member Chris Gregerson in a pre-race ceremony, Forsberg spent the rest of the night racing his way to his fourth Civil War championship.
The title hadn’t been determined entering the final event, as Forsberg held a 22-point lead over Colby Wiesz.
After qualifying second, Forsberg ran second in his heat and ended up second behind Kyle Hirst in the feature. With Wiesz taking third, Forsberg’s runner-up finish was enough to earn him the title.
