BASSETT, Va. — Billy Norfleet held off Glenn Worrell to win Saturday’s Virginia Sprint Series main at Fork Mountain Raceway.
Norfleet powered past the front row of Worrell and Dick Talley on lap three to move into the top spot as Talley and Worrell duked it out for the second position, leaving Norfleet to pull away from the field.
A late caution in the waning laps bunched up the field, allowing Worrell to pull even with the leader on the restart, but Norfleet was able to pull away to a two-length advantage to secure his second victory of the year. Worrell settled for second, followed by Talley, Donnie Rodeffer and Jerald Harris.
