Thomas Nets FSCA Prize

FSCA Sprints

LAKE CITY, Fla. — Gavin Thomas notched his second Florida Sprint Car Ass’n feature victory of the season as the race for the 2007 FSCA title heated up Saturday at North Florida Speedway.
Thomas inherited the lead after Scott Anderson’s engine faltered late in the event, and held off a strong charge from Matt Kurtz to preserve the victory.
With point-leader Otto Scrape watching from the infield after retiring from the event, Kurtz, the second-place points man, pulled out all the stops to challenge Thomas, but had to settle for the runner-up spot, cutting Scrape’s lead down to 31 points.
Mark Ruel, Jr., Barry McCance and John Cinkota rounded out the top five.
