Traveler Dollansky Gets Grove Trophy
Williams Grove Speedway, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Craig Dollansky outran an exceptional field to win the 25-lap sprint-car feature Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway.
Dollansky, the World of Outlaws regular from Elk River, Minn., started on the pole and wired the field to score his third- career victory at Williams Grove.
With an open weekend on the WoO schedule, Dollansky led a strong contingent of Outlaws into Williams Grove, including Joey Saldana, who finished second to make it a 1-2 sweep for the travelers.
Saldana started third and took the runner-up spot from Cody Darrah following a lap-15 restart. Saldana was unable to close on Dollansky, who was clearly the class of the field.
Darrah finished third, with point-leader Fred Rahmer and Chad Layton rounding out the top five.
Pat Cannon won the 20-lap limited (358 c.i.) sprint feature following an exciting duel with Dave Calaman.
