Aikin Conquers New Egypt

NEW EGYPT, N.J. — Ed Aikin was the man to beat in the 25-lap BAR’S Leaks United Racing Company sprint-car feature Saturday night at New Egypt Speedway.
Aikin, driving the Scott McClaren-owned sprint car, caught early-race leader Brian Seidel on lap 16 to take the top spot and was never challenged on his way to collecting the $2,000 first-place prize.
For Aikin, it was his second win of the season and fourth career triumph under the URC banner.
A field of 29 URC sprint cars turned out for URC’s 26th event of the season.
Aikin held off Seidel, while point-leader Curt Michael, Chris Coyle and Michael Carber rounded out the top five.
