Saturday
HANOVER, Pa. — Dave Ely delivered a near-perfect night for car owner Gene Franckowiak, as he won his qualifying heat race and the 25-lap United Racing Company Rislone Sprint Series feature Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway.
Franckowiak, a URC member who has strong opinions on keeping the cost of racing down, was quick to point out that the feature winning car was a design of the 1998 Wolf/Weld chassis that was powered by Daisy, a 13-year-old powerplant that carried Dave Ely to victory.
Ely led the entire 25-lap distance, taking the win over Trevor Lewis, who was driving the Scott McClaren No. 21. Justin Collett, Curt Michael and Brian Seidel filled the top five.
Thirty-eight cars were on hand at the three-eighths-mile dirt track.
The finish:
Dave Ely, Trevor Lewis, Justin Collett, Curt Michael, Brian Seidel, Kramer Williamson, Jason Clauss, Rory Jenne, Chris Coyle, Mark Bitner, Josh Weller, J.J. Grasso, Jimmy Reppert, Randy West, Davey Sammons, Ed Aikin, Brett Schoenly, Kyle Purks, Robbie Stillwaggon, Jamie Bodo, Brandon Weibley, Chad Layton, Gary Gollub, Gene Lasker, Becca Anderson.
