DELMAR, Del. — Davey Sammons used a late-race restart to steal the victory in Saturday night’s race that concluded the 60th anniversary season for the United Racing Company Sprint Series at Delaware Int’l Speedway.
Randy West started from the pole for the 25-lap event and paced the first 22 laps, but a restart on lap 23 gave Sammons the chance he needed.
Sammons blasted to the outside on the restart and romped to his first-career URC victory, which was worth $2,000.
West finished second, with Becca Anderson, Michael Carber and Kramer Williamson rounding out the top five.
Curt Michael, along with car owners Pat and Kathy Palladino, visited victory lane and celebrated winning the series championship.
