HARRIS, N.C. — Six-time O'Reilly United Sprint Car Series Champion Terry Gray scored a photo-finish win in the 20-lap O’Reilly United Sprint Car Series presented by Lucas Oil main event Friday night at Harris Speedway.
Gray beat fast-qualifier Johnny Bridges to the finish line by about 18 inches in the $1,200-to-win preliminary feature race of the Thunder in Carolina Round One. The series was to return to Harris Speedway Saturday night, but that race was postponed due to rain.
Bridges, who won last week in Dillon, S.C., set a new track record at 13.27 seconds on the four-tenths-mile clay oval, but couldn’t out-race the veteran Gray to the finish.
