15-Year-Old Brannon Raises The Bar

ASA LM North, I-70 Speedway

ODESSA, Mo. — Fifteen-year-old Drew Brannon became the youngest driver in ASA Late Model Series history to win an event Saturday at I-70 Speedway.
Brannon dominated after starting on the outside pole, leading all 150 laps en route to the win.
He also held off a hard charging John Saunders through a green-white-checkered flag finish. The two battled hard, making contact on the last lap, which sent Saunders into the turn-two wall.
“This is amazing, I can’t believe we actually won this race,” the youngster said from victory lane.
The finish:
Drew Brannon, John Saunders, Cody Smith, Nick Neville, Brett Moffitt, Chris Eggleston, Wes Griffith, Jr., Josh Lane, Steven Brooks, Nick Bussell, Thor Anderson, David Wood, Derek Neville, Austin Siebert, Ron Hartford, Troy Hintzsche, Scott Rueschenberg, Alec Carll, Jerry Einhaus, Eddie Hoffman, Jack Smith, Trent Snyder, Caleb Hall, Dave Gentile, Jeremy Miller, Brent Brevak, Griffin McGrath, Elton Rust, Jr., Michael Pickens, Joe Ross, Joey King, Billy Crane
