Old School: Veteran Hoffman Holds Off Young Guns

ASA Late Model Series, O'Reilly Raceway Park, Clermont, Ind.

CLERMONT, Ind. — Veteran late-model driver Eddie Hoffman held off a strong field of youngsters to win Saturday night’s ASA Late Model Series Northern division feature at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.
Driving for team-owner Tom Kmak, Hoffman raced to his 10th ASA LM Series triumph.
Trent Snyder took the lead on lap 28 and pulled away from the field on the five-eighths-mile asphalt oval, but Hoffman was coming on strong and moved around Snyder to lead on lap 61.
“We were just racing hard and I could tell that Trent’s tires were starting to go away a little bit,” explained Hoffman. “That gave me the chance I needed to get around him and we did. It was a very good race for the lead there for a while.”
Snyder finished second, ahead of Jesse Saunders, Derek Neville and Alec Carll.
The finish:
Eddie Hoffman, Trent Snyder, Jesse Saunders, Derek Neville, Alec Carll, Jeremy Miller, Nick Neville, Nick Bussell, Peter Cozzolino, Joey King, Brett Moffitt, Nick Schumacher, Steven Brooks, Chris Eggleston, Troy Hintzsche, Brian Campbell, Travis Dassow, Jordan Dahlke, Dave Gentile, Jr., Michael Bilderback, Chad Finley, Josh Cave, Austin Siebert, Jason Tyler, Michael Pickens, Cody Smith.
