ASA Southeast Sets Inaugural Season
The ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour will make its debut for Super Late Models and Pro Late Models with a 15-race schedule and three additional non-point events in 2008.
The new series will also feature an extensive television package with 11 televised events on major networks east of the Mississippi River and throughout the Southeast, which is designed to reach at least 32 million households.
The series will make its debut at Mobile (Ala.) Int’l Speedway March 22 and end the season with an event combined with the ASA Midwest Series Nov. 8 at a track to be announced.
“The biggest thing about this schedule is that we’ve tried to put together a variety of tracks when it comes to size, speed and challenge,” said John Kee, marketing director for the series. “That is evident in having places like Hickory, with the history of the place; Concord, with the high speeds and three different turns; and the road course in (Kershaw) South Carolina.”
The schedule:

Motor Speedway; May 17, Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway; May 31, Senoia (Ga.) Speedway; June 14, Dillon (S.C.)
