Fredrickson Dominates Spectacular

ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour, ECHO Bear Cat July Spectacular 100 at I-94 Raceway.

SAUK CENTRE, Minn. — ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour point-leader Dan Fredrickson dominated Saturday night’s ECHO Bear Cat July Spectacular 100 at I-94 Raceway, lapping 24 of the 26 cars in the field.
Fredrickson started 10th and quickly jumped to the lead by lap 12 over Adam Hensel.
“I knew it was a hot rod in the heat race,” said Fredrickson in victory lane. “We struggled all day. The car was fast, but it wasn’t how I wanted it to feel. This is sweet — never lapped the field before.”
The 100-lap event only saw one caution flag, which occurred on lap three when Nick Panitzke tapped the left rear corner of Jon Olson going into turn one, causing Olson to spin. On the restart, Hensel held off an early charge from Nick Murgic for the top spot, but that battle ended as Fredrickson flew past both of them and set the cruise control on his super late model. He finished almost a half a lap over second-place finisher and defending ASAMT Champion Nathan Haseleu.
Steve Anderson finished third ahead of Don Reuvers in fourth and Jonathan Eilen in fifth.
The finish:
Dan Fredrickson, Nathan Haseleu, Steve Anderson, Don Reuvers, Jonathan Eilen, Eugene Dick, Adam Hensel, Travis Sauter, Jeff Storm, Chris Wimmer, Jamie Iverson, Jacob Goede, Blake Horstman, Nick Panitzke, Jon Olson, Kyle Calmes, Paul Paine, Russ Blakeley, Nick Murgic, Tyler Sjoman, Joey Johnson, Kris Kelly, Tim Schendel, Gordy Swanson, Rich Snyder, Joe Berthiaume.
