OREGON, Wis. — Dan Fredrickson would admit that he never had a good run at Madison Int’l Speedway, but that story changed Sunday after he captured the ASA Midwest Tour Echo Chainsaw 100.
“I haven’t won here and I’ve never been real good here, but had a pretty sweet car here tonight,” a happy Fredrickson stated in victory lane. “I hope we can keep going with this, it was cool to beat Carlson and Busch. And now Madison is one of my favorite tracks.”
Fredrickson held off a late charge from Steve Carlson to take his fourth ASA Midwest Tour victory, leading the final 31 laps. Carlson settled for second.
NASCAR Sprint Cup star Kyle Busch survived an up-and-down night to finish in third, just .007-second ahead of Mark Eswein in fourth. Josh Vadnais completed the top five.
