Adams Is Victor, Cyr Sets Records
American-Canadian Tour (ACT)
OXFORD, Maine — Travis Adams took over the point after a crash with lapped traffic doomed the chances of race-leading Scott Dragon and paced the final nine circuits unchallenged for victory in the American Canadian Tour New England Dodge Dealers 150 at Oxford Plains Speedway Saturday.
The lapped car of Doug Coombs spun directly in front of Dragon after Dragon and Adams had battled, swapping the lead five times between them over the first 141 laps.
Dragon was credited with a 29th-place finish.
Adams took advantage to capture his first ACT Late Model Tour victory. Roger Brown finished second, clinching the L/A Harley-Davidson Challenge Series — a five-race mini series at Oxford Plains — title. Donald Theetge finished third, while Brent Dragon and Eddie McDonald rounded out the top five.
Jean-Paul Cyr clinched his fifth-consecutive and seventh career ACT Late Model Tour championship by virtue of his 12th-place finish, setting new records in both categories.
