WINCHESTER, Ind. — After three postponed events, the CRA Super Series finally kicked off its season with the Manning Service 100 at Winchester Speedway which saw two-time series champion Scott Hantz win from the pole.
Hantz battled for the point with Jeff Lane during the first 47 laps, racing side by side for a few circuits until a car about to be lapped nearly spun out. Lane slowed just enough for Hantz to edge by and win the event at the half-mile asphalt oval.
Battling behind Hantz, ninth-starting Boris Jurkovic moved up to second and held on until the fourth caution of the race when Terry Fisher, Jr. cut a tire on lap 96.
On the restart, Jurkovic fell back to seventh due to transmission problems, allowing Kenny Tweedy to take the checkered flag in the runner-up position.
Jason Dietsch, J.R. Roahrig and K&N rookie-of-the-race Zach Taylor rounded out the top five.
The finish:
Scott Hantz, Kenny Tweedy, Jason Dietsch, J.R. Roahrig, Zach Taylor, Aaron Pierce, Boris Jurkovic, Terry Fisher, Jr., Sean Matthuis, Jason Shively, Tommy Cook, Jack Smith, Robert Maynor, John Van Doom, Jeff Lane, Al Longtin, John Heck, A.J. Ganino, Tommy St. John, Rick Turner, Bull Baker, Adam Purdy, Logan Ruffin, Donald Karr, Jr.
