CLARENCE, N.Y. — A mid-race gamble to shun pit lane by Matt Hirschman paid dividends Saturday night as Hirschman took advantage of track position to win the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour event at Lancaster Motorsports Park.
Hirschman took the lead just six laps after the majority of the field pitted under yellow and held off challenges from Jan Leaty over the final 26 circuits to claim the $2,800 winner’s purse.
Tom McGrath, Erick Rudolph and Sege Fidanza rounded out the top five.
