Hanbury Overpowers Oswego Field
Race of Champions SST Modified
OSWEGO, N.Y. — The hottest driver the second half of the racing season in the SST Modified division throughout New York State proved his quickness once again Friday night.
Tony Hanbury simply outpowered the talented field of drivers to claim the $2,500 to-win ST modified feature during Race of Champions weekend at Oswego Speedway.
Hanbury took the lead from Dan Kurzejewski on lap 53 of the half-mile oval and was never headed the remainder of the 100-lap distance. It was his 12th triumph of the season.
“This win caps off my best season ever “ said Hanbury. “But the best thing is all of this is my family as my family and friends got me here with this car.”
Kevin Timmerman finished second, with John Price, T.J. Potrzebowski and Jeff Hamman rounded out the top five.
