Teen Shows Savvy At WyoCo
Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour
PERRY, N.Y. — Sixteen-year-old Erick Rudolph, a third-generation driver from Ransomville, N.Y., became the first teen winner in the history of the Race of Champions Dart Asphalt Modified Tour Sunday, leading all 75 laps en route to victory lane at Wyoming County Int’l Raceway.
It was Rudolph’s first victory in the modified division. He also recorded his first sportsman victory at the Wyoming County track.
Matt Hirschman finished second, and Daren Scherer was third. Bobby Holmes, Rudolph’s DeLange Racing teammate, took fourth, and Pete Brittain rounded out the top five.
