Salem Late-Model Shoes Can’t Stay In The Fast Lane

CRA Super Series Hoosier Hills 100, Salem (Ind.) Speedway

SALEM, Ind. — Jeff Lane took over the lead midway through Saturday night’s CRA Super Series Hoosier Hills 100 and led the rest of the way for the victory at Salem Speedway.
Series rookie Zach Taylor led the first 49 laps, but Lane was able to slip by Taylor on a lap-49 restart and take the point for the final 51 laps.
Taylor held on for second place, but had a mirror full of Scott Hantz, a two-time winner on the CRA circuit this season, and teammate Rick Turner. A three-way battle for second helped insure Lane’s drive to the checkers.
“I have to thank car owner Hayden (Butler) and the guys that work on my car since the storms caused me to have to work over 80 hours in the last five days and there is no way we could have been here without their help. I really appreciate Bill Rievley stopping by to make sure we had everything we needed,” a very happy Lane said. “This was the best car I have ever had here at Salem; it was a great car to drive tonight.”
Hantz finished third ahead of Turner. Kenny Tweedy completed the top five.
The finish:
Jeff Lane, Zach Taylor, Scott Hantz, Rick Turner, Kenny Tweedy, J.R. Roahrig, Keith Gardner, Terry Fisher, Jr., Aaron Pierce, Mitch Cobb, Blake Hillard, Jason Dietsch, Jeff Berg, A.J. Ganino, Don Young, Jason Shively, Adam Purdy, Robert Maynor, Sean Matthuis, Al Longtin, Boris Jurkovic, John VanDoorn, Bull Baker, Tommy Cook.
