Weder, Shryock Both Hold Off Bridesmaid Hughes

USMTS

Friday

ENID, Okla. — Tommy Weder, Jr. took advantage of Terry Phillip’s misfortune to win Friday’s inaugural Oklahoma Fall Nationals at Enid Speedway Park to post his first career United States Modified Touring Series victory.
Weder led the final five laps after Phillips suffered a flat rear tire while leading the race. Phillips led the first 25 laps from the pole position with Weder following from his third starting spot. As Phillips blistered the field, it looked like Weder would have to settle for the runner-up spot when Phillips dropped out on lap 25, giving Weder the top spot ahead of teammate Jason Hughes.
Hughes pressured Weder over the final five laps but couldn’t find a way around as Weder held on for the $2,000 payday.
The finish:
Tommy Weder, Jr., Jason Hughes, Greg Skaggs, Jeremy Payne, Randy Timms, Tim Donlinger, Willy Kraft, Jon Tesch, Steve Holzkamper, Kelly Shryock, Eddie Martin, John Allen, Derek Ramirez, Mike Roach, Scott Green, Rodney Sanders, Darren Hacker, Ryan McAninch, Dena Wilson, Curtis Allen, Terry Phillips, Pat McVicker, Troy Gemmill, Nichols Littlejohn.
