Toledo To Rumble
TOLEDO, Ohio — Another two-day event has been added to the Rumble Series of midget races presented by Tony Barhorst.
Rumble In The Toledo SeaGate Centre is scheduled for Dec. 19-20 and the event will be sanctioned by the United States Auto Club with a special event that combines the National, Regional, Kenyon and Ford Focus cars running a full show with a 60-lap feature on Friday and Saturday.
The outlaw modified 600 cc winged midgets take will have a full show and a 50-lap feature each day. Quarter midgets and karts will also participate.
“One really nice aspect of this location is the Park Inn (formerly the Radisson) connected to the SeaGate Centre and overlooking the Maumee River in downtown Toledo,” Barhorst said. “With 400 rooms it is the largest hotel in northwestern Ohio. I have secured a “racers’ rate of $79” (normally $139). Fans and competitors should ask for the Rumble rate specifically by calling (419) 241-3000 for rooms only.
“The Rumble Series is now a true indoor series. If all goes well, I may add one more in the fall or winter of 2009,” said Barhorst.
The 2008 indoor series now includes the Buckeye Bowl at the Ohio State Fairgrounds Coliseum on Nov. 1 and the Rumble at The Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum Expo Center on Dec. 26-27, in addition to the newly added Toledo dates.
