LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — There were no surprises as Indiana Sprint Week opened July 11 at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
Defending Sprint Week champion Jon Stanbrough picked up his third Lucas Oil USAC National Sprint Car Series triumph of the season.
Stanbrough passed Brady Bacon on lap 15 and guided the Jarvis Enterprises DRC-Foxco to a commanding victory in the 40-lap event on the quarter-mile dirt track.
Dave Darland charged from 12th on the grid to finish second, but he was unable to challenge Stanbrough during the closing laps. Bacon finished third, with Chris Windom and Darren Hagen rounding out the top five.
It was also the fourth-straight Sprint Week triumph for Stanbrough, who won the final three races of last year’s mid-summer classic.
Stanbrough was also the fast qualifier for the 47-car field.
