Three Aces In Regional Events

ANDERSON, Ind. — Up-and-coming racer Chris Windom and NASCAR driver Bryan Clauson split twin USAC Regional Midget Car Series features during the June 11 Open Wheel Extravaganza at Anderson Speedway.
Windom took the lead from Sammy Imel on lap 20 of the 25-lap opener on the quarter-mile asphalt oval and held off Stephanie Mockler to post his first victory of the season. Dakoda Armstrong, Brian Olson and Jeremy Warren rounded out the top five.
Clauson, meanwhile, led all 20 laps of the nightcap, with Mockler finishing second for the second time of the night. Windom, Brent Beauchamp and Travis Young filled the top five.

Saturday
MORRIS, Ill. — Alison MacLeod led all 50 laps to win the Mel Kenyon Classic for the USAC Regional Midget Car Series Saturday night at Grundy County Speedway.
MacLeod, driving a Bob East-prepared midget, started on the front row and led throughout on the third-mile asphalt oval.
She held off fast-qualifier Brian Olson to claim the victory, with Jim Anderson, Travis Young and David Byrne rounding out the top five.
