Hmiel took the lead from Eric Humphries, who had led since lap 17, on the 37th circuit and paced the remainder of the 50-lap event to earn his first USAC triumph.
Humphries came home second, with Porter Smith, Tanner Swanson and Nick Rescino, Jr. rounding out the top five.
