LAS VEGAS  — Blake Miller made a late charge to win Thursday night’s USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series feature during the opening night of the Las Vegas Dirt Classic.
Miller, the ninth quickest qualifier in the 26-car field, made the winning pass around Jesse Hockett on lap 25 and paced the final six laps of the half-mile oval for his first victory of the season.
Series point-leader Cory Kruseman came home second, with Casey Shuman, Cole Whitt and Tyler Brown rounding out the top five.
Hockett led the first nine laps before losing the point to Whitt, who led through lap 14. Hockett regained the lead on the 15th circuit and set the pace until Miller came calling.
Jonas Reynolds was transported to University Medical Center for treatment following a flip in the second heat.

LAS VEGAS — Defending USAC National Sprint Car Series champion Levi Jones dominated Friday night’s USAC-CRA Sprint Car Series feature on the final night of the Las Vegas Dirt Classic.
Driving Jeff Walker’s No. 11, Jones led all 30 laps of the Dirt Track @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway to collect his first triumph of the season.
Starting from the front row on the half-mile oval, Jones held off the charge of fast-qualifier Jesse Hockett, who advanced from row three to finish second. Point-leader Cory Kruseman finished third, ahead of Danny Sheridan and Thursday night feature winner Blake Miller.
