Tequila Patron Continues Support Of ALMS
SEBRING, Fla. — Tequila Patron will return as the presenting sponsor of the nine-race American Le Mans Series this year as well as sponsoring the Extreme Speed Motorsports team owned by driver/owner Scott Sharp.
“Last season proved why we so enthusiastically chose to become the presenting sponsor of the American Le Mans Series,” said Patron Spirits Chief Marking Officer Matt Carroll. “It was a year marked by enormously competitive, energetic world-class racing that truly captured what our high-quality luxury spirits are all about. We’re looking forward to another terrific year of American Le Mans Series racing.”
The Extreme Speed Motorsports team will debut a pair of new Ferrari F458 GTs during the 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring Int’l Raceway March 20. The two black Ferraris will be splashed with Patron’s distinctive green colors and bee design.
The No. 01 Ferrari will be co-driven by Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek. Behind the wheel of the No. 02 Ferrari will be Ed Brown and Guy Cosmo. During the two extra distance races this year at Sebring and Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga., Dominik Farnbacher will co-drive the No. 01 and Rob Bell will co-drive the No. 02
Tequila Patron is also the title sponsor of April 16 event on the Streets of Long Beach in California and the race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif., Sept. 17. Finally, at several races this season Patron will work with local race organizers to bring “Club Patron” to the track. Club Patron is a club for fans age 21 and up where they can enjoy Patron tequila, Ultimat vodka and Pyrat rum cocktails throughout the race weekend.
“This continues to be a partnership that is — to borrow a phrase — simply perfect,” said ALMS President and CEO Scott Atherton. “There are so many synergies between the American Le Mans Series and Tequila Patron that it is difficult to list them all.
“We are grateful for the continued and increased investment of Tequila Patron in our series. This relationship has grown every year and we believe that our best days and biggest benefits for all involved are still to come,” Atherton added.
