Curb Records Supporting MSR At Indianapolis

PATASKALA, Ohio – Mike Curb is a big fan of the big races.

With success in some of the greatest events in racing as a car owner, Curb has a long history of wins in big events and he will look to add to that winning legacy with a victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as he teams with Michael Shank Racing for the Brickyard Grand Prix July 25-26.

Curb will sponsor both team entries, with the No. 6 Michael Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian Ford-Riley set to be piloted by A.J. Allmendinger and Gustavo Yacaman, while John Pew and Ozz Negri will share the driving duties in the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ford-Riley.

The partnership is a new chapter in the relationship for Curb and Shank, who first joined forces to support Justin Wilson, Michael McDowell, and Allmendinger in the 2010 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

The Brickyard Grand Prix, which also marks the final round of North American Endurance Championship presented by VISITFLORIDA.com, will see the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series make its second-ever visit to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide race weekend.

“Michael Shank has a real first-class effort, so we are proud to be a part of this,” said Curb, who also enjoyed success in the Indianapolis 500 with the 2011 victory by the late Dan Wheldon. “We were the car owners when Dale Earnhardt won the 1980 NASCAR championship and of course, the memory that we all are so fond of was when Richard Petty won his 200th race with our car with President Reagan at Daytona. Racing at the Speedway is always special, and hopefully we can be kissing the Bricks at the end of the day with Mike, AJ, and Gustavo.”

Michael Shank Racing has bounced back from several significant challenges in 2013, and is ready to make the second half of the season a strong one. The new partnerships of Roberts Electrical Construction, AERO, and now Curb, see the commercial aspects of the program continue to grow momentum.

“It is great to have Mike (Curb) back with us, and hopefully we can take a big result at the Speedway with him on board,” said Shank. “It’s amazing when you think about some of the accomplishments that he has been a part of through the years and it is always gratifying to have someone who has supported you in the past, come back and step up again. We’ve had some ups and downs this year but the team has responded well every time. We’ve had strong cars and we know that if we just keep doing what we’ve been doing the results will come.”
