Grand-Am Hands Out GT Penalties
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After reviewing this past Sunday’s (Sept. 8) Rolex Series event at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, Grand-Am Road Racing officials have issued two post-race penalties, reflected in the race’s official results issued Friday.
The No. 31 Chevrolet and the No. 73 Porsche, third- and fourth-place finishers in the GT class’ original results, each had 22 seconds (equivalent to a drive-thru penalty) assessed for late-race contact involving the No. 63 Ferrari that resulted in a change of position.
In the official results, the No. 31 and No 73 are relegated to eighth and ninth in GT respectively.
The No. 63 Ferrari, originally the fifth-place finisher in GT, has been moved up to third in the official results.
