SHARON, Conn. – The F2000 Championship Series and F1600 Formula F Championship Series have each revealed their 2013 racing schedules.
Virginia Int’l Raceway in Alton, Va., kicks off both seasons on April 11-14. From there, both tours head to Road Atlanta and will share the weekend with Formula Drift on May 9-11.
Like in 2012, F2000 then goes north for a two-day event at Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-25, along with F1600 and the Trans-Am Series.
The Northeast sees another race weekend at the end of June (27-29), at Watkins Glen Int’l with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series six-hour endurance race.
A month off leads into the final leg of the season, with three races scheduled in just five weeks to close out the year.
The 2.25 mile, 10-turn Mid-Ohio circuit will play host to two F2000 weekends along with the F1600 tour. The first, July 26-28, before a brief weekend off, and then it’s back to Mid-Ohio, Aug. 9-11.
Series officials will introduce something unique for the second Mid-Ohio weekend, which is set to be a doubleheader for the F2000 tour.
With six weekends and 12 races in the books by Aug. 11, a season finale showdown will be set up for the end of August at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia, Aug. 23-25, for both F2000 and F1600, with the series awards ceremony following on Aug. 25.
