Ricky Taylor Heading To Le Mans

Ricky Taylor will complete the driver crew of Larbre Competition’s No. 50 Corvette C6.R at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 22-23.

The 23-year-old American joins Patrick Bornhauser and Julien Canal at the French squad that has claimed GT class victories in sports car racing’s blue riband event for the last three years. A fourth consecutive win, and third straight GTE Am triumph, would represent the perfect present for the team in its 25th anniversary season.

Taylor, the son of sportscar legend Wayne Taylor who contested Le Mans 13 times, has been a frontrunner in the US-based Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series driving Daytona Prototypes since 2008. His SDR Motorsports team’s strong links with Corvette made him the ideal candidate to join Larbre Competition’s accomplished No. 50 crew.

“Competing at Le Mans has been a long-held dream of mine and to be doing so with a GM-backed team is even better. Larbre Competition have proven themselves time and again at this level and clearly know how to get the job done at Le Mans,” Taylor said. “To be joining the car and drivers that won last season can only be a good thing but the pressure will still be on us to deliver the result.”

Taylor’s signing completes Larbre Competiton’s two-car Le Mans line-up that also includes fellow American Cooper MacNeil, who partners Philippe Dumas and Manuel Rodrigues in the team’s No. 70 Corvette.
