Vintage Sports-Car Series Gets New Owner
HANOVER, N.H. – Officials with the Sports-Car Vintage Racing Ass’n have announced the sale of the organization to Parella Racing, LLC.
“SVRA has entered into a definitive sales agreement and has been sold to Parella Racing LLC,” said SVRA President Peter McLaughlin. “We expect the assets to be transferred in September, 2012 following our scheduled race at Watkins Glen.
“I’m very pleased to see SVRA in such good hands. Parella Racing LLC, brings a passion for Vintage racing, proven professional management skills and the financial resources to grow SVRA” McLaughlin added.
Founded in 1978, SVRA is in the business of hosting, promoting, organizing and running vintage/historic racing events. Most recently, SVRA has held annual events at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, Watkins Glen (N.Y.) Int’l and Sebring (Fla.) Int’l Raceway.
“I am very excited to be part of the SVRA team. I’m also very fortunate to be able to work with such a respected group of vintage racing professionals,” said Parella Racing, LLC Owner Tony Parella. “We plan to expand our race season, our geographic reach and invest in SVRA to further enhance our events over the coming months. The future is very bright for SVRA.”
