WISKO Confirms F1600 Driver Roster

DULLES, Va. – WISKO Racing will set its aim on the 2014 F1600 Formula F Championship Series title as it has confirmed a two-car Mygale/Honda lineup featuring 23-year-old Russian driver Nikita Lastochkin and Oklahoma native Will Harvey.

Coming off a 2013 season where Aaron Telitz took the team’s first pro series win with a daring last lap move at Road Atlanta, WISKO is hoping to build on momentum gained last year as it looks towards an expanded 14-race/seven weekend schedule in 2014.

From Russia, Lastochkin has been in the U.S. since he was 16 and is spending the winter running F1600 races on the West Coast. He began his formula-car career in Skip Barber in 2013.

“I’m expecting a good level of competition in 2014,” he said. “My goal is to learn as much as I can and constantly work on my skill-set as a driver. I have heard a lot about Watkins Glen and am looking very forward to two weekends there.”

Harvey will line-up in the team’s second Mygale/Honda package, and is a unique addition to the field, bringing a resume that includes multiple dirt-track sprint car wins from 2006 through 2012. In 2013, he made the transition to formula cars, finishing third in the Bertil Roos F2000 Race Series.

“Whether I have hundreds of laps or no experience at all at a track, I look to enter each weekend with the goal of being a threat to win on the last lap,” Harvey noted. “I am thrilled to have the chance to travel to a completely new group of tracks this year! Aside from Pittsburgh, the closest I have been to any of the courses is spectating at Watkins Glen.

“Having little to no exposure at a majority of the tracks will pose the greatest difficulty to my 2014 campaign,” continued Harvey. “However, if the team and I arrive at the track ready to learn rather than to prove ourselves, success will ensue.”

WISKO Racing Managing Director Danyel Torres is looking equally forward to a competitive 2014 season.

“Bringing on Lastochkin and Harvey to our 2014 program is a big step forward in demonstrating our abilities as a serious driver development academy,” said Torres. “Both are rookies to the series and I think both drivers will equally have something to prove this season, this could make things exciting considering many of the cars on the grid this year will be Mygales, much like our own.”
